I like to look at strangers from a distance. I wonder if their lives are anything like mine. I am interested in the human body, how it seems both familiar and alien, how it makes us feel when we look at it. I find skin fascinating, the fragile membrane along which we draw the line between ourselves and others, even if it fills us with fear and sadness. I try to investigate these things by creating images, by enlarging very small details, until the boundaries are blurred and we cannot be sure where one person ends and the other begins.
